Organisational Development

PROJECT TIMELINE:
January 2015- Ongoing

BUSINESS TYPE:
Rapid Growth Medium Sized Business

WHAT WAS NEEDED:
To lay foundations for growth.

WHAT THEY SAID:
“I find Jacqui’s approach incredibly engaging and insightful, she has an endearing nature which invokes the highest level of trust and integrity with everyone she engages with. Her pragmatic and calming influence has proved incredibly successful when invited to facilitate strategy meetings, identifying emotions, retaining structure, dialogue and ultimately retaining the agenda.  In summary, Jacqui has shaped our leadership model and enabled us to grow effectively by on average 35% year on year, Jacqui has been part of our journey and will be for many years to come.”

We had worked with this client a few years ago, providing coaching to senior leaders and running a leadership development workshop. The company is a rapid growth, design and build business who wanted to lay strong foundations for continued growth.

For the past 5 years, yearly growth has exceeded 35%. The prevailing approach had been informal processes and hands-on leadership. The CEO saw that this strategy was not scalable and had the potential to inhibit growth. He wanted to extract himself from the day to day running of the business. The management team needed to take on more responsibility and adopt a different way of working. They needed to take a step back from the nitty-gritty of running the business and learn how to deliver an increasing workload through others.

In particular, the CEO wanted to protect and enhance the family feel company culture which he cherished and attributed much of the business success to.

What we did
We worked with the CEO to design an evolving and tailored OD programme. It included:

  • A review of leadership roles and the establishment of an Executive team with a remit to:
  1. Manage the day to day through others.
  2. Plan and build for the future- making the organisation scalable.
  3. Engage the team with the journey, to create a great place to work.
  • 1-2-1 leadership coaching for 6 key leaders using LSI to assess and monitor leadership impact.
  • Team coaching for the Board.
  • 1-2-1 mentoring, with the coach as thinking partner for the CEO.
  • Facilitation in meetings on key Strategy topics.
  • Organisation Design around core business process.
  • The co-creation of a strategy to enhance customer experience and 1-2-1 coaching for the newly appointed Customer Experience Director.

The outcome highlights include:

  • Winner of 2016 Times 100 best small company award.
